The Cleveland Clinic Louis Stokes Internship Program


Launched in partnership with PNC Bank and supported by Effective Leadership Academy, this internship program honors Congressman Louis Stokes’ legacy of public service and his longstanding commitment to the youth of Cleveland. This six-week, paid internship program encourages students' interest in non-clinical areas of health care.
 
During the internship, high school students from Cleveland and East Cleveland will have the opportunity to work and learn alongside caregivers at Cleveland Clinic. New students spend their first two weeks participating in a work experience leadership camp and the following four weeks working in non-clinical departments of Cleveland Clinic. Returning students spend their first week participating in a work experience leadership camp and the following five weeks working in non-clinical departments of Cleveland Clinic.
 
The program also provides financial literacy that will prepare students for success in life and in their eventual careers.

Cleveland Clinic Louis Stokes Internship Program: Operations

(Grade 9 at time of application; Age 15 by June 1, 2019)
This six-week, non-clinical internship program encourages students' interest areas of healthcare that are designed to monitor and manage all of the processes within the hospital setting, including the production and distribution of products and services.


Cleveland Clinic Louis Stokes Internship Program: Patient Services

(Grade 9 at time of application; Age 15 by June 1, 2019)
This six-week, non-clinical internship program focuses on the areas of health care that ensure patients have a safe, clean environment, nutritional food, and an overall positive experience while in the hospital setting.


Cleveland Clinic Louis Stokes Internship Program: Technology

(Grade 9 at time of application; Age 15 by June 1, 2019)
This six-week, non-clinical internship program immerses students in the areas of information technology (IT) that involve the design, development, creation, use, and maintenance of information systems for the healthcare industry.
