Science Internship Program

The nine different tracks of the Science Internship Program expose high school students to various clinical fields and careers within healthcare. During these nine-week, paid internships, students learn and work alongside world-renowned caregivers at Cleveland Clinic's main campus, Regional Hospitals, and Family Health Centers.

These programs provide hands-on learning opportunities that introduce academic knowledge and life skills that students can apply in the classroom setting and beyond.

Before applying to the Science Internship Program, please review the tracks listed below to determine which experience best matches your interests and future career goals. 


Science Internship Program: Applied Medicine

(Grade 10, 11, or 12 at time of application; Age > 16 by June 1, 2019)
This nine-week track of the Science Internship Program gives students the opportunity to work alongside Cleveland Clinic caregivers, while learning how health can be maintained through the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the body.


Science Internship Program: Creative Learning

(Grade 10, 11, or 12 at time of application; Age > 16 by June 1, 2019)
This nine-week track of the Science Internship Program engages students in the creative exploration of science and medicine, and their interconnections to the arts.


Science Internship Program: Laboratory Medicine

(Grade 10, 11, or 12 at time of application; Age > 16 by June 1, 2019)
This nine-week track of the Science Internship Program gives students the opportunity to learn about the wide range of career paths in pathology and laboratory science, while working alongside Cleveland Clinic caregivers.


Science Internship Program: Nursing Care

(Grade 10, 11, or 12 at time of application; Age > 16 by June 1, 2019)
This nine-week track of the Science Internship Program gives students the opportunity to work and learn alongside Cleveland Clinic bedside nurses, nursing educators, nursing administrators and nursing researchers.


Science Internship Program: Pharmacy

(Grade 10, 11, or 12 at time of application; Age > 16 by June 1, 2019)
This nine-week track of the Science Internship Program gives students the opportunity to work and learn alongside experienced Cleveland Clinic pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, research pharmacists, and other pharmacy specialists.


Science Internship Program: Public Health

(Grade 10, 11, or 12 at time of application; Age > 16 by June 1, 2019)
This nine-week track of the Science Internship Program gives students the opportunity to work alongside Cleveland Clinic caregivers, while learning about the science of preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting the health of the population as a whole.


Science Internship Program: Radiology

(Grade 10, 11, or 12 at time of application; Age > 16 by June 1, 2019)
This nine-week track of the Science Internship Program gives students the opportunity to work and learn alongside experienced radiology professionals and researchers at Cleveland Clinic.


Science Internship Program: Respiratory Care

(Grade 10, 11, or 12 at time of application; Age > 16 by June 1, 2019)
This nine-week track of the Science Internship Program gives students the opportunity to work and learn alongside experienced Cleveland Clinic respiratory care professionals and researchers.


Science Internship Program: Translational Medicine

(Grade 10, 11, or 12 at time of application; Age > 16 by June 1, 2019)
In this nine-week track of the Science Internship Program, students work alongside Cleveland Clinic caregivers while learning how the analysis of observations and discovery of interventions in pre-clinical settings can improve the health of individuals and the public.
