Science Internship Program: Laboratory Medicine

The Laboratory Medicine track of the Science Internship Program provides rising high school juniors and seniors who live and attend school in Northeast Ohio the opportunity to work and learn alongside experienced Cleveland Clinic laboratory medicine professionals and researchers and gain exposure to the wide range of career paths in pathology and laboratory science offered at Cleveland Clinic.
 
In collaboration with the Robert J. Tomsich Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Institute, the Laboratory Medicine Internship Program expands high school students’ knowledge of and exposure to the wide range of career paths in pathology and laboratory
science offered at Cleveland Clinic.

This nine-week, paid internship provides rising high school juniors and seniors who live and attend school in Northeast Ohio with the opportunity to work and learn alongside experienced laboratory medicine professionals such as medical technologists and medical laboratory technicians, cytotechnologists and cytotechnicians, histotechnologists and histotechnicians, cytogenetics technologists, molecular genetics technologists, pathologists & molecular pathologists, pathology assistants, chemists, geneticists, hematologists, microbiologists, virologists, and laboratory informatics analysts.

Through hands-on learning and individualized mentoring, selected students who have an interest in the career of pathology and medical laboratory science are provided with individually structured, full-time, science-related learning experiences during the summer.
