Built around the Rex Rules!™ storybook series, the Health Unleashed!™ program promotes healthy lifestyle choices, literacy, and interdisciplinary exploration for students in grades K through 2. The program’s interactive lessons and creative resources advance student enrichment within and beyond the classroom by capturing the energy and enthusiasm of Rex himself – a Cleveland Clinic therapy dog whose misunderstandings lead to misadventures (and lots of humor!) before each lesson is done.

Health Unleashed! and Rex Rules! were conceived and developed by Creative Learning Interns Madeline Spicer (Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School) and Rachael Thorn (Rocky River High School), with mentors Bryan Pflaum, Thomas Miller, and Kelli Jorz.

This summer we’re proudly partnering with Cleveland Public Library (CPL) to present three special, thirty-minute connected learning sessions of Health Unleashed! As part of CPL’s Kindergarten Club and Summer Lit League series, Cleveland Clinic caregivers from the Center for Functional Medicine will use Zoom technology to facilitate the fun-filled Health Unleashed! lessons, followed by book recommendations provided by CPL youth librarians.
