eXpressions™ Program: Language School: Westlake High School City/State: Westlake, Ohio Teacher(s): Amy Klenz Medium/Genre: Free Verse Poem eXhibition Year: 2017
eXpressionist Statement:

Depression is a serious problem that should be treated with the help of professionals. However, it can be hard for teens, especially those raised in Asian families, to talk about their problems to their family, which may account for the low number of Asians that come to find professional help. In "A Choice," the internal thoughts of an Asian girl with depression are expressed in a free verse poem.
