eXpressionist Statement:

My grandmother suffered and passed away from breast cancer, although she never underwent reconstruction surgery. I know the whole experience took a huge toll on her, but I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if she had contracted an infection from any further surgeries. My project is about a woman's inner conflict about whether or not she should get reconstruction surgery after her battle with breast cancer. I can only imagine how difficult this decision must be. I tried to capture her struggle and as I was writing, I had my grandmother's experience in mind.
