The central idea of my piece is to illustrate the struggle women experience to access health care. I chose Athena and Draco as my main figures because I feel the battle between the figures in mythology is a perfect way to show the struggle women have obtaining health care. Athena represents the strong, powerful woman, and Draco is the beast that has stolen her heart, or the woman’s health care being stolen from her. I hope that when viewers see this piece, they visualize and begin to feel the anguish of fighting for one’s health without gender bias.
