Aiding Infants in Withdrawal

eXpressionist Statement:

I chose Jenna Karpinsky's pharmacy project, “The Impact of Increased Calorie Feeding in Infants With Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Treated With Morphine,” to raise awareness about the many serious impacts on a newborn's health that can result from drug use by the mother during pregnancy. While this health complication is entirely preventable, the number of cases still continues to grow as the opioid crisis further develops. My hope for this project is for it to raise attention about this growing health issue and thus benefit the health of many unborn children.
