eXpressionist Statement:

I wrote this piece based on feelings I know individuals around me have experienced. I was inspired by Jannat Ali's work because no one truly focuses on the minorities, and to focus on mental health in those groups is very important. It's vital to let people know they are being seen and heard. This piece was written in first person to truly allow the reader to understand and place themselves in the shoes of someone with these mental illnesses. I believe more research like this should be done, as to properly see how to handle these mental illness and better treat those who suffer from them.
