Teacher Social Highlights

An eXciting start to the school year

As many educators prepared to enjoy an extended Labor Day weekend, 36 motivated teachers from across Northeast Ohio joined Cleveland Clinic K–12 Education’s School Programs Department for its annual eXpressions® Teacher Social. Engaging in hands-on activities, new and returning participants got a taste of what their middle and high school students can experience in the year ahead through eXpressions: an award-winning initiative that engaged 1,529 students from 53 schools in 2018. Through project-based, peer-to-peer learning, students translate Cleveland Clinic research projects, producing artistic, literary, and mathematical interpretations of the science. Participants have the chance to win awards and to have their work published and displayed as part of a juried eXhibition. And since this year’s research is focused on five important community health topics, students have the opportunity to impact public health through their creative interpretations.
