Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Public Library partner to promote health and literacy

Cleveland Clinic and Cleveland Public Library (CPL) are teaming up to deliver programming this summer, presenting three special, thirty-minute connected learning sessions of Cleveland Clinic K–12 Education’s free Health Unleashed!® program.

Built around the Rex Rules!™ storybook series, Health Unleashed! promotes healthy lifestyle choices, literacy, and interdisciplinary exploration for students in grades K through 2. The program’s hands-on activities and creative resources advance student enrichment by capturing the energy and enthusiasm of Rex himself – a Cleveland Clinic therapy dog whose misunderstandings lead to misadventures (and lots of humor!) before each lesson is done.

Presented as part of CPL’s Kindergarten Club and Summer Lit Leagues series, Cleveland Clinic caregivers from the Center for Functional Medicine will facilitate the fun-filled Health Unleashed! lessons, followed by book recommendations provided by CPL youth librarians.
